Polytechnic boards give the final project different names. In MSBTE’s K scheme it is the Capstone Project, course 316004, in the sixth semester. Whatever yours is called, examiners look for the same three things: a clear problem, a working output and a group that can explain it.
- 20 topic ideas for Diploma students in computer engineering, IT and electronics, in four groups.
- Every idea gives the problem and the output, so you can turn it into a synopsis quickly.
- A good Diploma project does one job well, runs live and can be explained by every member.
- Your institute and board decide the report format, the group size and the marks. Ask your guide for the current rules.
- We help with the topic, the code, the report, the PPT and viva preparation, after a free consultation and a fixed quote.
Which Diploma final year project topics can you build?
These 20 topics are sized for a polytechnic final year: each can be built by a small group, shown working in a few minutes and explained without notes. Open any card for the tools and the demo.
Every card below is an idea to discuss with your guide. Our 8 delivered case studies are M.Tech and M.E. projects, not Diploma projects.

How do you choose a Diploma project topic?
Shortlist two or three topics, then check each one against these points before you go to your guide.
- Start from a problem you have seen in your college, your hostel, a local shop or at home. It is easier to explain a problem you know.
- Fix one main feature that must work, and at most two small extras. A finished small project scores better than a large unfinished one.
- Give every member a part they can explain alone: the screens, the database, the model or the circuit.
- List the parts and their prices first if the topic needs hardware, and check what your lab already has.
- Get the title and scope approved in writing before you start building.
What do you get with a Diploma project from us?
Your topic and features are agreed in the consultation, and everything you choose is listed in the quote.
| Deliverable | What it covers | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Topic and synopsis | Two or three topics that suit your branch and group, and a synopsis with the problem, objectives and output | Word or PDF |
| Source code | The full project with a setup guide, running on your own laptop. For IoT topics this is the firmware and the dashboard | Python, Java, PHP, Android, Arduino and others |
| Working demo | A short script of what to show, and in what order, at each review | Live on your laptop |
| Project report | Your institute’s format, with diagrams, screenshots, testing and references | Word and PDF |
| PPT | Slides for the reviews and the final presentation | PowerPoint |
| Viva preparation | A walkthrough of the code and common questions, covering each member’s part | Walkthrough session |
| Changes after review | Changes your guide asks for, within the agreed scope | Until your final review |
For IoT and electronics topics the help covers planning, the firmware and the dashboard; the parts, and who assembles them, are settled in the consultation. Only need the documents for a project you built? See project report and PPT help.

What should MSBTE students know about the capstone project?
In the K scheme of the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, the final project is called the Capstone Project and carries course code 316004 in the sixth semester. Any of the 20 topics above can be written up as a capstone project.
- Capstone project: a complete build by a group, with a report, a presentation and a viva.
- Micro project: a much smaller task inside one course. One feature of a topic above, such as the QR scanner or the sensor reading, is often enough.
- Format and marks: the report format, the diary or log, the group size and the marks come from the board’s curriculum document and your institute. Ask your guide for the current copy, because these change between schemes.
Students of other state boards can use the same topics; only the report format and the review schedule differ.
What does our work look like?
The examples on this site are from M.E. and M.Tech projects we delivered, not Diploma projects. They show the standard of apps, diagrams and slides to expect; a Diploma project is smaller, but it is built and documented in the same way. Three to look at: skin disease detection in the browser, an interactive storytelling app and predictive maintenance using machine learning.
Planning to continue to a degree? See the B.Tech project ideas, written in the same problem and output format, and final year projects for CSE and IT for B.Tech and B.E. scope.
Frequently asked questions
Which project is best for a Diploma in computer engineering final year?
One that solves a small real problem around you and runs live in front of the examiner: a web app with a login and a database, a Python dashboard, or a simple AI model with a webcam demo. Pick the one every member of your group can explain.
What is the difference between a micro project and a final year project?
A micro project is a small task done inside one course. The final year or capstone project is a complete build with a report, a presentation and a viva. Your board’s curriculum and your institute set the exact rules for both.
Can Diploma students do AI or machine learning projects?
Yes, if the scope is small: one pre-trained model, one public dataset and one clear demo, such as a waste classifier with a webcam. Be ready to explain what the model learned and where it fails, not only to show that it runs.
How much does a Diploma project cost?
It depends on the topic, what you need (code, report, PPT), any hardware and your deadline. After the free consultation you get a fixed quote in writing before any work starts, and payment can be split into milestones.
Do you help with the Diploma project report and PPT as well?
Yes. The report is prepared in your institute’s format with diagrams, screenshots and testing, along with a PPT and viva preparation. If you built the project yourself, we can help with the documents alone.
Is it allowed to take help with a Diploma project?
Institutes set their own rules, so check yours first. Treat our work as guidance: learn how the project works, run it yourself and present it in your own words. The walkthrough prepares each member to explain their part.
